Two BMW 5 Series Interiors, Brought Back to Life: Inside a 5Boro Full Detail

If you park on the street in Queens, the inside of your car takes a slow beating you barely notice. A little sand tracked in here, a few crumbs there, loose change that disappears under the seat. It builds up quietly. Then one day you open the door, really look, and the interior is nothing like the day you got the car.
That's the shape these two BMW 5 Series were in when they came to our shop in Flushing for a Full Detail. Both were everyday drivers, and both wore every mile of it on the inside.
What city driving does to your interior
When these BMWs came in, the footwells were packed with fine sand and grit. Crumbs were worked deep into the carpet fibers, there was loose change and debris scattered under the seats, and a dull film of dust covered the leather, the door panels, and the dashboard. The leather itself had dirt marks ground into the seams and creases.
None of that surprised us. It's what a lot of NYC interiors look like under honest light. A few things make city cars wear faster than most:
Street parking: Most cars in Queens don't sit in a garage. They're exposed around the clock, so dust, pollen, and road grime get tracked in and settle constantly.
Winter salt and sand: From late fall through early spring, the salt and sand spread across city streets ride into your car on the bottom of your shoes. Sand is the quiet problem. It's abrasive, so it grinds into carpet fibers and buries itself in seat creases where a quick vacuum can't reach.
Commuter habits: Long, stop-and-go drives mean more coffee, more food on the go, and more crumbs, plus loose change from tolls and meters that ends up everywhere but the cupholder.
The result is an interior that doesn't just look tired. It holds onto dirt, grit, and odor that a regular wipe-down can't pull out.
What a 5Boro Full Detail covers
A Full Detail is our deepest interior service, built to reset a car like these from the ground up. On both BMWs, that meant:
A full interior vacuum, including the trunk
Deep shampoo extraction and stain removal on the seats, floors, and trunk
Intensive cleaning of the leather and plastics (seats, panels, and dashboard)

Every Full Detail also includes our complimentary exterior add-ons: a swirl-free two-bucket hand wash, cleaned rims and tires with a high-gloss tire dressing, and streak-free windows. So while the focus here was the inside, both BMWs left looking sharp inside and out.
The difference
The photos tell it better than we can. The front seats and footwells went from sand-covered and dust-dulled to clean, dark, and factory-fresh. The rear seats — usually the most neglected part of any car — came back just as sharp, with the leather grain clean again and the carpet free of debris.

How long does a Full Detail take?
It depends entirely on the car. A Full Detail usually takes a few hours, but the real variable is condition. A heavily soiled interior like these two takes longer than a car that's just due for a refresh. We'd rather take the time to do it properly than rush and leave grit behind in the carpet.
